Job Description

Foreman – Chiller Maintenance

Responsible for supervising and executing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, including associated pumps, cooling towers, expansion tanks, piping networks, and control systems. Leads and coordinates a team of HVAC technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of maintenance activities in compliance with manufacturer recommendations and site HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Supervision

• Plan and supervise routine preventive maintenance (PM) of chillers and auxiliary equipment.

• Coordinate chiller shutdowns and startups with minimal operational disruption.

• Lead and coordinate a team of HVAC technicians to ensure efficient task execution.

Diagnostics & Fault Rectification

• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults.

• Monitor system performance parameters such as suction/discharge pressure, superheat, subcooling, oil levels, and temperature differentials.

Compressor Overhauling

• Carry out compressor overhauling, including dismantling, inspection of internal components (valves, pistons, bearings, shafts), replacement of worn parts, reassembly, alignment, vacuuming, oil charging, and recommissioning.

Refrigerant Management

• Supervise refrigerant recovery, leak detection, pressure testing, and gas charging.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure proper documentation of service reports, maintenance logs, and spare part consumption.

• Maintain safety compliance, permit-to-work procedures, and conduct toolbox talks for the team.

• Ensure optimal chiller efficiency, reduced downtime, and extended equipment life through proactive maintenance and effective team supervision.
