Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant jobs in Kuwait and financial reporting roles in the Middle East are now available for experienced accounting professionals. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support the functional activities in accounting and reporting, including receivables and payable accounting, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash and banking accounting. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce with a minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment, with sound knowledge of accounting and internal controls and proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Job Summary
The primary role of the Senior Accountant is to support the functional activities in accounting and reporting. This will include receivables and payable accounting, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, and cash and banking accounting.
Job Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Reporting

Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports to the Finance Manager.

Generate and distribute customer account statements on a regular basis.

Prepare provision reports and management reports to support financial analysis and decision making.
Commissions & Reconciliations

Calculate, prepare, and process commission payments for Sales Representatives and Brokers.

Perform monthly reconciliations, including customer and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Customer Queries & Claims

Resolve customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments for timely issue resolution.

Review motor insurance claim files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures.
Month-End & Year-End Closing

Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with accounting standards.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and schedules, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Audit & Compliance

Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations during audit reviews.

Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations where applicable.
Systems & Data Integrity

Maintain and update accounting records in Insurance Accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across financial modules.
Candidate Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce.
Experience
-
A minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Sound knowledge of accounting and internal controls.

Analytical mindset with good problem-solving and presentation skills.

Proficiency in MS Office with hands-on knowledge of ERP systems.

Strong team orientation.

Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.
