Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing customer purchases accurately, handling various payment methods, and delivering excellent customer service. The role also supports daily store operations by maintaining an organized checkout area, assisting customers with inquiries, and ensuring accurate cash reconciliation at the end of each shift.

This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer purchases accurately using Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and cash registers.
• Accept and process payments through cash, debit cards, credit cards, mobile payments, and other approved payment methods.
• Verify product pricing, apply authorized discounts, and ensure transaction accuracy.
• Issue receipts, refunds, exchanges, and store credits in accordance with company policies.
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily sales transactions at the end of each shift.
• Identify and report payment discrepancies or cash shortages promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area at all times.
• Assist customers with product inquiries, store information, promotions, and basic shopping assistance.
• Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Promote current offers, loyalty programs, and promotional campaigns to enhance customer engagement and sales.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, fraud prevention, and transaction security.
• Support store operations by assisting with merchandise replenishment, inventory checks, and general housekeeping as required.
• Stay informed about product updates, pricing changes, and company policies to provide accurate customer assistance.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily store operations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certification in Retail Operations or Customer Service is considered an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of overall work experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in cashiering, retail, or customer service roles.
• Previous GCC retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.
