Senior Architect
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to lead the planning, design, and delivery of innovative architectural projects from concept through construction. The successful candidate will ensure that all architectural designs meet client expectations, comply with applicable regulations, and align with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
This role requires a creative and technically proficient professional with extensive experience in architectural design, multidisciplinary coordination, and project management. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, engineers, and construction teams to deliver functional, sustainable, and visually compelling architectural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design & Project Leadership
- Lead the architectural design process for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments from concept to project completion.
- Develop creative, functional, and sustainable design solutions that meet client objectives and project requirements.
- Review and approve architectural drawings, design documents, and technical specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Ensure all architectural deliverables comply with project objectives, applicable building codes, and industry standards.
- Guide design development through schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction phases.
Project Management
- Plan, organize, and manage architectural projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables while proactively managing project risks.
- Coordinate design activities with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve seamless project integration.
- Support value engineering initiatives without compromising design quality or project functionality.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with clients by understanding project goals and delivering high-quality design solutions.
- Present architectural concepts, design proposals, and project updates to clients and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, project managers, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Address client feedback and implement design revisions where appropriate.
Technical Coordination & Documentation
- Prepare, review, and oversee architectural documentation, including construction drawings, technical specifications, schedules, and design reports.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure architectural designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with construction requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and technical assessments to maintain consistency and quality throughout the project.
Quality, Compliance & Innovation
- Ensure all projects comply with local building regulations, zoning requirements, accessibility standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of architectural excellence by conducting regular quality reviews and design audits.
- Stay informed about emerging architectural trends, sustainable design practices, digital technologies, and BIM methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, project performance, and client satisfaction.
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor and support junior architects, designers, and technical staff through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Encourage continuous professional development and adherence to architectural best practices.
- Foster a positive and high-performing work environment focused on innovation and excellence.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives across all project phases.
- Ensure architectural activities comply with company policies, Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
- Participate in safety awareness programs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, and building systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of local and international building codes, zoning regulations, and construction standards.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other architectural design and BIM software.
- Experience using visualization and presentation tools is an advantage.
- Excellent project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage complex project requirements.
- Experience using ERP systems; SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
- Professional architectural registration or certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 8 years of professional architectural experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience leading architectural design projects.
- Previous GCC project experience is preferred.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments is highly desirable.
