Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our site supervision team for high-profile irrigation and landscaping infrastructure projects in Dubai. In this capacity, you will be responsible for all field surveying activities, including establishing control networks, verifying contractor setting-out, and ensuring that all works are executed in strict accordance with design drawings and specifications. You will work closely with engineers, contractors, and client representatives to maintain precise spatial data and support the successful delivery of soft and hard landscaping works.

Core Responsibilities

Field Survey Operations

• Conduct land surveys, geodetic calculations, and topographical mapping to support construction activities.

• Establish and verify primary and secondary control points, benchmarks, and grid lines for the project.

• Perform routine checks on setting-out, levels, and services locations to ensure protection of existing utilities.

Verification & Quality Assurance

• Verify contractor setting-out for irrigation networks, planting areas, hardscape elements, and earthworks.

• Record initial and final levels of completed works, ensuring compliance with approved grade plans.

• Review and check shop drawings in coordination with the concerned Engineer, identifying any discrepancies with site conditions.

• Conduct verification of earthwork cross-sections and volume calculations.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare detailed sketches, field books, and calculation sheets to support all survey activities.

• Maintain comprehensive records of all survey data, including as-built measurements and control point logs.

• Assist in the preparation and review of ‘as-built’ record drawings for project handover.

• Take accurate measurements of work completed for progress verification and payment certification.

Coordination & Safety

• Interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to determine and align on survey requirements.

• Ensure all surveying activities are completed on schedule and within budgeted man-hours and costs.

• Actively participate in site health and safety initiatives, reporting any hazards to the Resident Engineer and Project Safety Representative.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a closely related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience specifically in inspection and supervision of irrigation and landscaping works on infrastructure construction and supervision projects.

• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with surveying instruments including Total Station, Level, and Theodolite.

• Software Skills: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation for drawing review and data processing.

• Communication: Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Desired Skills

• Regional Experience: Must be currently available in the UAE with recent work experience in Dubai.

• Local Authority Knowledge: Familiarity with Dubai municipality standards and irrigation network specifications.

• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and precision in field measurements and calculations.

• Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary site team.
