Accountant
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records, and support financial reporting and business analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing accounting data, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring that financial information is accurate, complete, and available to management for informed decision-making.
The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, analytical ability, and practical experience with accounting systems and ERP platforms. Experience with SAP and GCC-based operations will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare and review financial statements, accounting reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Verify accounting transactions and ensure financial data is properly classified and recorded in the appropriate accounts.
- Review financial information to identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, trends, and areas requiring further investigation.
- Analyze revenue, operating costs, expenses, financial commitments, and business performance to support management reporting and planning.
- Assist with the preparation, monitoring, and review of annual and periodic budgets.
- Prepare budget-versus-actual reports and investigate significant variances.
- Provide financial analysis and supporting information to management for operational and strategic decision-making.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and support the effective operation of accounting and recordkeeping processes.
- Assist in developing, improving, and documenting accounting procedures, reporting processes, and internal controls.
- Ensure financial reports are prepared accurately and within established reporting deadlines.
- Review financial data and reports to ensure completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures.
- Support the preparation of forecasts by analyzing historical financial information, current business performance, and expected revenues and expenses.
- Use ERP and accounting systems effectively to maintain reliable financial information and improve the availability of management reports.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for accounting transactions and financial reports.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support management with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and accounting-related assignments.
- Follow company policies, applicable financial regulations, and established internal controls.
- Support company HSE initiatives, participate in safety-awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and corrective actions in accordance with company and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with finance, operations, procurement, HR, and other departments to resolve accounting and financial-data issues.
- Support process-improvement initiatives aimed at increasing reporting accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.
- Ensure accounting documentation is properly organized and readily available when required.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Required Knowledge
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general accounting practices.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting procedures.
- Good understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Knowledge of financial data interpretation and variance analysis.
- Understanding of banking, cash management, and financial transactions.
- Good knowledge of accounting controls, reconciliations, and recordkeeping procedures.
- Understanding of ERP-based accounting processes and financial systems.

Job Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Previous GCC experience is an advantage.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems is preferred.
- Experience in preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, reconciliations, and management analysis is highly desirable.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented accounting professional with solid financial-analysis skills and practical experience managing accounting records and reports. The candidate should be comfortable working with ERP systems, analyzing financial information, meeting reporting deadlines, and communicating financial findings to management.
