IT Business Partner – Supply Chain

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Partner – Supply Chain to act as the strategic connection between Supply Chain operations and Information Technology. This role will help align technology initiatives with business objectives across warehousing, logistics, inventory management, demand planning, order fulfillment, retail, and eCommerce operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders and technical teams to identify technology opportunities, improve operational efficiency, support digital transformation, and deliver scalable supply chain solutions across a multi-country environment.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Technology Strategy

  • Serve as a key technology partner for Supply Chain leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Understand business priorities and translate operational requirements into effective IT strategies, initiatives, and technology roadmaps.
  • Support long-term technology planning focused on areas such as inventory accuracy, fulfillment performance, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the value and effectiveness of supply chain technology platforms.

Solution Delivery & Systems Management

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Project Managers, application support teams, and other technology stakeholders to deliver scalable supply chain solutions.
  • Manage and prioritize technology initiatives and projects supporting warehouse operations, logistics, inventory visibility, and fulfillment.
  • Support the implementation, enhancement, and integration of systems such as ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, SAP, and other supply chain platforms.
  • Coordinate system integrations using appropriate middleware and integration technologies.
  • Ensure effective change management, user readiness, and smooth adoption of new systems and technology solutions.
  • Monitor project delivery to support timely completion within agreed scope and budget.

Supply Chain Process Improvement & Digital Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes through automation, digital technologies, data analytics, AI/ML, and IoT solutions.
  • Lead or support initiatives aimed at simplifying and digitizing processes across procurement, warehousing, inbound and outbound logistics, replenishment, and fulfillment.
  • Promote the effective use of data and analytics to improve key supply chain performance indicators.
  • Support initiatives designed to enhance order accuracy, delivery performance, lead times, inventory management, and operational productivity.

IT Governance, Performance & Service Management

  • Establish and monitor relevant KPIs for IT service delivery and supply chain technology projects.
  • Ensure technology initiatives follow applicable IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and audit requirements.
  • Work closely with application support and managed services teams to address incidents, monitor service levels, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to IT budgeting, technology investment planning, and cost optimization activities related to supply chain systems.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build strong working relationships with Supply Chain leaders, Distribution Center teams, warehouse managers, logistics partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of priorities.
  • Communicate project progress, key risks, challenges, and expected business outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collaboration between business and IT teams to support successful technology adoption and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline. An MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
  • Approximately 10–15 years of relevant IT experience, preferably within retail, eCommerce, FMCG, logistics, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong experience working with enterprise and supply chain platforms such as ERP, SAP, WMS, TMS, Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or similar solutions.
  • Experience participating in or leading at least one end-to-end Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation, preferably involving SAP.
  • Knowledge of integration platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools used to support business and operational decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain functions, including warehousing, transportation, logistics, inventory management, replenishment, demand planning, and order fulfillment.
  • Experience supporting regional or multi-country operations will be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
