Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to coordinate and manage logistics activities supporting construction and project operations. The role will oversee the movement, storage, delivery, and availability of materials, equipment, and other resources required for efficient project execution.

The successful candidate will coordinate with warehouses, transport providers, customs agents, suppliers, clients, and internal project teams to ensure materials and equipment reach the required locations safely and on schedule. The position also involves logistics planning, inventory monitoring, cost control, process improvement, and compliance with company and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily logistics activities and ensure operational requirements are completed efficiently and within agreed schedules.
  • Develop logistics plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, and support arrangements for ongoing and new project activities.
  • Coordinate with warehouses, transport companies, freight providers, customs brokers, suppliers, and customers to maintain an efficient supply chain.
  • Monitor the movement of materials, equipment, tools, and other project resources from suppliers or storage locations to designated sites.
  • Ensure shipments are properly planned, packed, dispatched, transported, received, and delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Support the selection and evaluation of logistics service providers, suppliers, transportation companies, and delivery management solutions.
  • Monitor third-party logistics costs and support budget preparation, cost control, and commercial evaluations.
  • Coordinate logistics support for active construction and operational activities.
  • Develop and implement practical methods, procedures, and tools to improve logistics planning and execution.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for transportation, material handling, storage, delivery, and site logistics.
  • Review existing logistics processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce delays, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate logistics documentation, records, schedules, delivery information, and operational reports.
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Enforce organizational safety requirements across logistics activities and promote safe working practices among employees, drivers, contractors, and service providers.

Project & Site Logistics Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning and setup of project logistics arrangements to support the efficient movement of people, materials, vehicles, and construction equipment.
  • Plan site access, delivery routes, gates, storage areas, laydown zones, temporary facilities, lifting arrangements, and material offloading locations.
  • Develop internal and external logistics routes throughout different project phases while maintaining appropriate separation between pedestrians, vehicles, mobile equipment, and machinery.
  • Coordinate material delivery schedules to minimize congestion, waiting time, site disruption, and unnecessary handling.
  • Plan the utilization of critical logistics assets such as hoists, cranes, lifting equipment, access systems, and material-handling resources according to project requirements.
  • Monitor warehouse and site inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or unnecessary stock accumulation.
  • Establish appropriate stock-control procedures and maintain visibility of materials, equipment, tools, and other pre-positioned resources.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure required materials and equipment are available at the right location and at the required time.
  • Monitor the condition and handling of delivered materials and ensure appropriate storage practices are followed.
  • Coordinate waste removal, housekeeping logistics, and material movement requirements across project locations.
  • Support site logistics planning for labor movement, plant allocation, material handling, temporary services, security access, and other operational requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and respond promptly to logistics-related requirements and concerns.
  • Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness activities, incident reporting, and corrective actions in accordance with company and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Supervise logistics personnel, drivers, warehouse staff, coordinators, and other assigned team members.
  • Assign daily activities and monitor team performance against operational requirements.
  • Track logistics performance indicators such as delivery timelines, transportation utilization, inventory accuracy, service quality, and logistics costs.
  • Investigate delivery delays, damaged materials, transportation issues, inventory discrepancies, and other operational problems.
  • Coordinate corrective actions and follow up to ensure identified logistics issues are resolved.
  • Prepare regular logistics reports and provide operational updates to project and management teams.
  • Assist with logistics audits, supplier evaluations, and performance reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and site logistics.
  • Perform other logistics and project support duties assigned by management.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of logistics management, transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain operations.
  • Practical understanding of construction and project-site logistics, including material delivery, storage, site access, traffic management, and equipment movement.
  • Strong leadership and team-management capabilities with the ability to coordinate logistics personnel and service providers.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliveries, resources, and operational priorities.
  • Knowledge of route planning, shipment tracking, warehouse processes, stock management, and logistics documentation.
  • Proficiency in logistics management systems, inventory applications, shipment tracking platforms, and relevant reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities for resolving transportation, delivery, inventory, and site logistics challenges.
  • Good understanding of logistics cost management and third-party logistics coordination.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for dealing with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, customs agents, clients, and project teams.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements related to transportation, material handling, warehousing, and construction logistics.
  • ERP experience, preferably SAP functional knowledge, is required for successful performance in this role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and respond effectively to changing operational requirements.

Job Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of overall professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse management, transportation, or project logistics.
  • GCC experience is an advantage, preferably with at least 2 years of regional experience.
  • Experience supporting logistics operations within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or large-scale project environments is preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising logistics teams, transport providers, warehouses, or third-party logistics companies is an advantage.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in logistics, supply chain, warehouse management, or transportation is an advantage.
