BIM Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead and manage Building Information Modeling (BIM) activities across construction and engineering projects. The role will be responsible for establishing BIM standards, managing digital models, improving multidisciplinary coordination, and supporting efficient project planning and delivery.
The BIM Manager will work closely with project owners, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams to enhance collaboration throughout the virtual construction process. The position plays a key role in improving design coordination, identifying clashes and technical issues, reducing rework, supporting cost efficiency, and improving the quality of project documentation and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Strategy & Standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, protocols, procedures, and workflows across assigned projects.
- Establish clear BIM requirements and best practices to support consistent project execution.
- Ensure BIM processes are aligned with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Continuously review and improve BIM workflows to enhance efficiency, coordination, and project outcomes.
BIM Model Management & Coordination
- Oversee the development, management, and coordination of BIM models throughout different project stages.
- Ensure BIM models are accurate, complete, properly coordinated, and compliant with project requirements.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines to support effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Conduct model reviews and quality control checks to identify clashes, errors, inconsistencies, and coordination issues.
- Support project teams in resolving design and technical conflicts identified through BIM coordination.
- Monitor BIM deliverables and ensure they are completed within agreed project schedules and quality requirements.
Team Leadership & Project Support
- Lead and provide technical guidance to BIM Engineers, Coordinators, Modelers, and other assigned team members.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and support the professional development of BIM team members.
- Coordinate BIM activities across multiple disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on BIM methodologies, model development, and coordination requirements.
- Ensure BIM activities support overall project objectives related to time, cost, quality, and construction efficiency.
Software, Technology & Innovation
- Manage and coordinate the effective use of BIM software, tools, licenses, and digital resources.
- Support project teams in utilizing platforms such as Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and other relevant BIM technologies.
- Stay informed about developments in BIM technology, digital construction, and industry best practices.
- Evaluate opportunities to introduce new tools, technologies, and processes that improve BIM productivity and collaboration.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in digital engineering and construction processes.
Training & Knowledge Development
- Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to project teams on BIM software and methodologies.
- Promote the adoption of BIM best practices across engineering and construction teams.
- Support the development of BIM knowledge and technical capabilities within the organization.
- Encourage effective knowledge sharing and continuous learning related to digital construction technologies.
Stakeholder & Client Coordination
- Act as a key point of contact for BIM-related coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Communicate BIM requirements, progress, challenges, and deliverables clearly to relevant parties.
- Participate in coordination meetings and support the resolution of BIM-related technical issues.
- Ensure BIM deliverables meet agreed client and project requirements.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Support the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) initiatives and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
- Participate in safety awareness programs and promote compliance with applicable company policies and procedures.
- Support the reporting and resolution of relevant incidents, risks, or non-conformities.
- Ensure assigned BIM activities are performed in accordance with organizational standards and project requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years in a relevant BIM leadership or supervisory role.
- Previous GCC experience of approximately 2 years will be an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) principles, standards, coordination processes, and digital construction workflows.
- Strong proficiency in BIM software and platforms such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and other relevant tools.
- Good understanding of architectural, engineering, and construction processes.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary BIM coordination and model review activities.
- Strong knowledge of clash detection, model quality control, and BIM deliverable management.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and guiding technical teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, will be an advantage.
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement effective BIM solutions.
