Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Bartender to prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional customer service. The Bartender will be responsible for maintaining an organized and well-stocked bar, preparing beverages according to established recipes and service standards, handling customer orders and payments, and ensuring compliance with applicable beverage service and safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of beverages, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment while creating a welcoming and positive experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, mocktails, specialty drinks, and other beverages according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
  • Create and prepare innovative drinks and beverage combinations based on customer preferences and establishment standards.
  • Welcome guests, take beverage orders accurately, and provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
  • Recommend beverages based on guest preferences, menu offerings, and available promotions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, liqueurs, mixers, garnishes, and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, hygienic, and fully stocked bar area throughout each shift.
  • Clean and polish glassware, bar equipment, counters, work surfaces, and beverage preparation areas.
  • Monitor stock levels of beverages, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies and communicate replenishment requirements to management.
  • Receive, organize, and properly store beverage inventory in accordance with established procedures.
  • Handle customer payments and cash transactions accurately, including processing bills, providing change, and following cash-handling procedures.
  • Reconcile cash and payment transactions at the end of shifts and report discrepancies to management.
  • Follow applicable alcohol service laws, age-verification requirements, responsible service practices, and company policies.
  • Verify customer identification when required and follow established procedures for responsible beverage service.
  • Monitor guest consumption and follow company procedures when service must be limited or declined.
  • Operate and maintain bar equipment, including beverage dispensers, refrigerators, ice machines, taps, and other relevant equipment.
  • Perform routine bar maintenance, including cleaning beverage lines, changing kegs, and reporting equipment faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Promote featured beverages, premium products, specials, and new menu items to support sales and enhance the guest experience.
  • Work closely with servers, restaurant staff, kitchen teams, supervisors, and other bar personnel to coordinate orders and maintain efficient service.
  • Respond professionally to guest feedback and complaints and escalate issues to supervisors or management when necessary.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, health, safety, and operational procedures applicable to the establishment.
  • Support HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in accordance with company and IMS policies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with bar opening and closing procedures, including preparation, cleaning, stock checks, and equipment checks.
  • Support beverage inventory counts and assist with identifying damaged, expired, or low-stock items.
  • Maintain accurate records related to beverage consumption, wastage, and inventory where required.
  • Assist in preparing the bar for special events, functions, private parties, and high-volume service periods.
  • Maintain professional appearance and comply with the establishment’s grooming and uniform standards.
  • Stay informed about new beverage trends, cocktail techniques, service standards, and hospitality best practices.
  • Perform other bar and hospitality-related duties assigned by management.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of beverages, cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, liqueurs, mixers, garnishes, and beverage preparation techniques.
  • Strong understanding of cocktail preparation, presentation, portion control, and standardized recipes.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand customer preferences and recommend appropriate beverages.
  • Strong knowledge of bar hygiene, cleanliness, organization, and safe beverage-handling practices.
  • Knowledge of responsible beverage service and applicable alcohol-service regulations.
  • Strong cash-handling and basic point-of-sale (POS) skills.
  • Good inventory management and stock-control skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail when measuring ingredients, preparing drinks, processing orders, and maintaining presentation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel, lounge, club, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest concerns and operational issues professionally.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and hospitality technology is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and appearance while providing consistently high-quality guest service.

Job Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in hospitality, food and beverage, restaurants, hotels, bars, lounges, or similar establishments.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant Bartender experience.
  • GCC experience is an advantage, preferably with 2 years of experience working in the GCC hospitality industry.
  • Experience in high-volume restaurants, hotels, luxury hospitality, resorts, lounges, or similar establishments is preferred.
  • Experience with POS systems, cash handling, inventory control, and beverage service is highly desirable.

Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Bartending, hospitality, food and beverage, or related professional certification is an advantage.
  • Relevant training in responsible beverage service, food safety, or hospitality operations is preferred.
