Logistics Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics activities, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, handling, and delivery of materials, equipment, and goods.
The role involves supervising logistics personnel, coordinating with warehouses, transport providers, suppliers, customs agents, customers, and project teams, and ensuring that logistics activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
The successful candidate will support logistics planning, transportation coordination, inventory control, site logistics, supplier coordination, cost management, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily logistics operations and ensure planned activities are completed efficiently and within required timelines.
- Supervise and coordinate logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse staff, equipment operators, and administrative support teams where applicable.
- Plan and schedule transportation, material movements, deliveries, collections, and other logistics activities.
- Coordinate with warehouses, transport companies, freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Monitor shipments from dispatch through delivery and promptly address delays, damages, documentation issues, or other transportation-related problems.
- Ensure materials and goods are properly packed, handled, transported, received, and stored to minimize damage, loss, and operational disruption.
- Maintain effective communication with customers and stakeholders regarding delivery schedules, requirements, and logistics issues.
- Support the evaluation and selection of logistics service providers based on operational requirements, service quality, capability, and cost.
- Assist with negotiations and cost-control initiatives involving third-party logistics providers, transportation services, and other logistics suppliers.
- Support annual logistics budgeting and monitor operational costs against approved budgets.
- Maintain productive working relationships with logistics suppliers, carriers, warehouses, customs agents, and other service providers.
- Develop and maintain logistics procedures, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation, warehousing, inventory, and distribution processes.
- Support the implementation of logistics systems, tools, and methods designed to improve operational visibility and efficiency.
- Monitor logistics performance indicators and prepare operational reports as required.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for shipments, deliveries, inventory movements, equipment, and logistics transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable transportation and logistics regulations.
- Monitor inventory and stock levels and coordinate replenishment or movement of materials as required.
- Support warehouse teams in maintaining appropriate storage, identification, handling, and stock-control practices.
- Coordinate logistics requirements for ongoing operations and project activities.
- Ensure the availability of required transportation and logistics resources to support operational schedules.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety-awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and corrective actions in accordance with company and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Project & Site Logistics Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate site logistics arrangements to support the efficient movement of personnel, materials, equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
- Plan delivery routes, access arrangements, loading and unloading areas, storage zones, laydown areas, and internal material-movement routes.
- Coordinate site logistics requirements throughout different stages of project execution.
- Support the planning of site facilities and temporary logistics arrangements, including access gates, security, accommodation, temporary services, material delivery areas, waste-management arrangements, and other operational requirements where applicable.
- Establish safe and efficient routes for vehicles, mobile equipment, machinery, and pedestrians, with appropriate separation wherever practicable.
- Coordinate the availability and planned utilization of key logistics assets such as cranes, hoists, forklifts, vehicles, and other material-handling equipment.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure logistics requirements are incorporated into work schedules and resource plans.
- Monitor site congestion, delivery conflicts, storage limitations, and other logistics constraints and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate material delivery and offloading activities to minimize disruption to project operations.
- Support effective waste-removal and material-disposal logistics in accordance with project and environmental requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in developing logistics programs, operational plans, resource requirements, and implementation schedules for new or expanding operations.
- Support the preparation of logistics budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Assist in assessing logistics suppliers and service providers and monitor their performance against agreed requirements.
- Maintain supplier and service-provider performance records.
- Review logistics processes and recommend improvements to reduce cost, delays, waste, and unnecessary handling.
- Assist with logistics audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Support contingency planning for transportation disruptions, supply delays, equipment availability, and other logistics risks.
- Provide management with regular updates on logistics performance, operational issues, costs, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure logistics documentation is properly maintained and readily available for review.
- Perform other logistics and operational duties assigned by management.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Required Knowledge
- Strong understanding of logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of inventory management, stock control, material handling, and warehouse processes.
- Understanding of transportation planning, route coordination, delivery scheduling, and shipment tracking.
- Knowledge of logistics documentation, shipping records, delivery notes, and related operational documentation.
- Understanding of supplier, carrier, warehouse, and third-party logistics management.
- Knowledge of site logistics and material-flow planning is highly desirable for project-based environments.
- Understanding of basic logistics cost management and budget monitoring.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements relevant to logistics operations.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with logistics management software and shipment/inventory tracking systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.

Job Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional work experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, supply chain, or site logistics.
- Experience supervising logistics personnel and coordinating day-to-day logistics operations.
- Experience working with transport providers, warehouses, suppliers, customers, and other logistics stakeholders.
- Experience in project, construction, engineering, industrial, facilities, manufacturing, or similar operational environments is preferred.
- Experience with site logistics planning and material-flow coordination is an advantage.
- GCC experience is preferred, with a minimum of 2 years considered an advantage.
- Experience using SAP or other ERP/logistics management systems is preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an organized and proactive logistics professional with strong coordination and team-management skills. The candidate should be capable of managing multiple logistics activities simultaneously, resolving operational challenges, monitoring transportation and inventory movements, and ensuring materials and equipment are available when required.
Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial, facilities management, manufacturing, logistics, or other project-based environments will be an advantage.
