Senior Technician – A/C / Chiller

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Senior Technician – A/C / Chiller to perform installation support, preventive maintenance, servicing, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of various air-conditioning and chilled-water systems.

The successful candidate will work on chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), rooftop package units, and Direct Expansion (DX) systems, ensuring reliable equipment performance, timely completion of service requests, accurate reporting, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC Service & Maintenance

• Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on different types of HVAC and air-conditioning equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair chillers, AHUs, rooftop package units, and DX air-conditioning systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Attend customer service calls and respond to equipment breakdowns and technical issues within the required timeframe.
• Perform Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) activities for HVAC and chilled-water systems.
• Inspect equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or operational faults and recommend appropriate corrective action.

Testing & Commissioning

• Conduct testing and commissioning of HVAC equipment and systems.
• Check equipment operating parameters and verify system performance against required specifications.
• Diagnose system faults and carry out appropriate troubleshooting and rectification.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning activities for new or replaced HVAC equipment.
• Verify system functionality following repair or maintenance work.

Reporting & Documentation

• Record equipment operating parameters, service activities, faults, repairs, and recommendations accurately.
• Prepare clear and complete HVAC service and maintenance reports after completing assigned jobs.
• Maintain appropriate records of inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and corrective actions.
• Communicate recurring equipment problems or major technical issues to the supervisor or relevant engineering team.

Customer Service

• Attend customer service requests professionally and within agreed service timelines.
• Explain identified faults, required repairs, and maintenance recommendations clearly to customers where appropriate.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all service locations.
• Ensure completed work areas are left clean, safe, and properly organized.
• Support customer satisfaction by completing repairs accurately and minimizing repeat service calls.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC, Air Conditioning, or Chiller Technician.
• Minimum 2-year vocational or technical qualification in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Cooling, or HVAC technology.
• Practical experience servicing and repairing:
  • Chillers
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Rooftop Package Units
  • DX Air Conditioning Systems
• Strong hands-on experience in HVAC troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, installation, fault finding, and system rectification.
• Ability to identify equipment damage, malfunctions, and performance issues.
• Experience carrying out preventive maintenance and AMC service activities.
• Ability to accurately record operating parameters and prepare technical service reports.
• Good understanding of HVAC tools, equipment, and safe working practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical service team.
